Job Title: Head of Bars

Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage

Overview:

Seeking an experienced and creative Head of Bars to lead and elevate a luxury hospitality bar program in NYC. This role combines leadership, mixology innovation, and operational excellence to deliver high-level guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and launch seasonal, innovative cocktail menus.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor bar team; foster growth and retention.
  • Lead service standards, scheduling, training, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee bar operations and maintain consistent presence on the floor.
  • Coordinate with events and programming teams on guest experiences.
  • Manage inventory, supplier relationships, and cost controls.
  • Support budgeting and financial tracking for all bar outlets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards.
  • Oversee ambiance elements such as lighting, music, and guest flow.
  • Collaborate with marketing and PR for promotional initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in luxury or high-end bar environments.
  • Strong mixology knowledge and creative cocktail program development.
  • Skilled in cost management, inventory systems, and liquor law compliance.
  • Holds current Department of Health food handler’s permit.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on setting and lift 20–60 lbs.
