About the Role

The General Manager will lead the opening and ongoing operations of a high-volume, full-service American brasserie. This leader will be responsible for creating a strong operational foundation, building and developing the team, driving exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining financial and operational performance.

The ideal candidate is a polished and hospitality-driven operator with strong financial acumen, excellent guest and client relations skills, and a deep understanding of food, wine, and cocktails. This person should be equally comfortable managing the immediate demands of daily operations while maintaining a long-term vision for the restaurant’s growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day restaurant operations with a strong focus on exceptional guest experiences and service standards.
  • Take full ownership of restaurant financial performance, including P&L, labor, budgeting, operating expenses, and cost controls.
  • Oversee workforce planning, scheduling, training, sales tracking, labor tracking, inventory, ordering, deposits, petty cash, and related financial processes.
  • Build, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing front-of-house team from opening through ongoing operations.
  • Establish and maintain clear SOPs and service standards across front-of-house operations.
  • Partner closely with the Executive Chef to ensure seamless front- and back-of-house operations, including food quality, menu execution, receiving, storage, food handling, and safety.
  • Review financial and operational performance regularly to identify opportunities for improved productivity, cost control, and revenue growth.
  • Build strong relationships with guests, clients, and key stakeholders while developing a loyal local following.
  • Maintain a polished, professional service environment consistent with the restaurant’s elevated positioning.
  • Leverage strong knowledge of wine, cocktails, and food to support team education and enhance the guest experience.
  • Remain actively engaged on the floor and lead by example during service.
  • Support special events, peak periods, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a General Manager in a full-service restaurant, hotel, or comparable high-volume food & beverage operation.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a polished, elevated hospitality environment.
  • Strong understanding of P&L management, budgeting, labor costs, operating expenses, and financial reporting.
  • Strong wine and beverage knowledge; sommelier certification through Court of Master Sommeliers or WSET is highly valued but not required.
  • Experience hiring, training, developing, and retaining hospitality teams.
  • Excellent guest relations and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both guests and clients.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a hands-on approach to operations.
  • ServSafe, Food Safety Handler, and TIPS certifications preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and digital reservation platforms.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • No college degree required.
