Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 + 10% bonus
Schedule: Full-time | Evening and weekend availability required

We are conducting a search for an inspiring and driven Assistant General Manager to join a high-volume, full-service restaurant in Washington, DC.
This role is an integral part of the restaurant's leadership team, working closely with the General Manager to shape team culture, elevate the guest experience, and drive operational excellence. The AGM will play a hands-on role in day-to-day restaurant operations while supporting sales performance, cost management, staff development, and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure consistent execution of service standards.
- Lead and support front-of-house teams during service, maintaining a strong presence on the floor and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
- Monitor operational processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, communication, and profitability.
- Support food and beverage quality, inventory management, cost controls, and adherence to established brand standards.
- Assist with labor planning, scheduling, and daily deployment to ensure appropriate staffing levels while maintaining labor targets.
- Train, coach, and mentor team members on hospitality, product knowledge, service standards, and operational procedures.
- Ensure new hires complete required training and onboarding checklists.
- Work alongside managers to assess employee performance, provide constructive feedback, recognize achievements, and address performance concerns.
- Support the General Manager with disciplinary actions, HR concerns, and other employee-related matters.
- Monitor daily restaurant performance and assist with the timely completion of operational and financial reporting.
- Support initiatives designed to increase sales, improve guest engagement, and maximize revenue through thoughtful promotions and upselling.
- Collaborate with management on menu, cocktail, and product recommendations based on guest feedback, trends, and business needs.
- Address guest requests and concerns with professionalism, urgency, and sound judgment.
- Ensure menus, pricing, and product information are accurate within the POS system.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, labor, and company policies.
- Communicate operational challenges and opportunities to the General Manager and executive leadership team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming environment for both guests and employees.
- Attend leadership and operational meetings as needed.
- Serve as a visible leader and trusted resource for the team, stepping into the General Manager's responsibilities when needed.
- Support P&L management and financial initiatives designed to maximize restaurant performance and profitability.
Position Requirements
- Strong understanding of front-of-house restaurant operations, including food and beverage, service, staffing, inventory, and food safety.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment.
- Strong understanding of labor, food, beverage, and operating costs and their impact on profitability.
- Comfortable working with budgets, payroll, revenue reporting, and operational forecasting.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to remain composed, solutions-oriented, and highly engaged in a fast-paced service environment.

Ideal Experience
- Required: 2–5 years of restaurant management experience within a high-volume, full-service hospitality concept.
- Experience working as an AGM, Assistant Manager, Restaurant Manager, or comparable leadership position strongly preferred.
- Experience with labor management, inventory controls, scheduling, and restaurant financial performance.
- Proven track record of dependability, strong leadership, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
