Wine Director | Chef-Driven Opening | NYC

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000

DESCRIPTION:

Acclaimed Chef-driven restaurant group is seeking a seasoned Wine Director for their new concept opening in the updated Rockefeller Center! This role will have complete oversight of the wine program and will be responsible for: meeting budgeted goals for revenue, cost control, developing managers and hourly staff through continued wine education. The ideal candidate will have experience with luxury F&B operations and have experience curating wine lists of 100+ labels.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sommelier certification of ASA Viticulture Vinification course, advanced WSET, CMS level 2 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and relationships with local distributors, importers, and portfolios.
  • Program development and cellar maintenance.
  • 2 years in a similar management position in luxury, fine dining restaurants and/or hotels.
  • Michelin experience a big plus but not required
  • Inventory & cost control.
  • Wine service & sales on the floor. 
  • Training, development and hiring of teams.
