DESCRIPTION:

Notable chef/owner in Boston seeks a sous chef for their celebrated Italian flagship restaurant. The Sous Chef will be responsible for supporting day to day operations and production for this James Beard winning fine dining Italian chef.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Chef/Owner the sous chef is responsible for supporting the operational success of the culinary team.

  • Coordinates and supervises the daily workload and activities
  • Confirms with the Executive Chef/Owner on department matters.
  • Plans/supports production schedule.
  • Adheres to all company and department policies and all food and beverage requisitions and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean station/department in accordance with local and state health department codes.
  • Ensures the culinary department operates within established guidelines in respect of food and beverage labor costs.
  • Communicates with staff on all pertinent issues and needs.
  • Promotes positive customer relations; handles customer complaints.
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The ideal candidate must be familiar with/passion for Italian Cuisine.¬†
  • Candidate must have a professional work ethic, a positive attitude, and the desire to lead by example.
  • At least 2 years of sous chef experience in fine dining and/or hotels
  • 3-6 years of experience in food production in fine dining kitchens
