Michelin decorated Chef is seeking an experienced General Manager with fine dining background for the opening of their next project in the heart of San Francisco. The primary role of the GM will be tasked with building and leading a cohesive, equitable, efficient team of managers and staff and to create and train on operational processes whose results create an exceptional guest experience and cost/revenue efficiencies for the company.

 AGM, Events Manager, Bar Leads and service staff will all report to GM, and GM will report to company COO.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Model and grow a positive, inspired, respectful culture
  • Oversee scheduling, time audits, labor costs and bar COGS
  • Stay abreast of sales trends; adjust where needed; look for opportunities to drive revenue
  • Co-Lead dining room service while establishing rapports with VIPs, regulars and stakeholders
  • Lead the service team with a positive attitude, effective communication, clear instruction and education of food and beverage and steps of service
  • Manage the flow of service through calibration of reservations and walk in guests with kitchen and service capacity
  • Manage customer service by getting to know our guests and their preferences, troubleshoot errors or guest complaints
  • Groom FOH managers to be effective leaders and trainers, collaborate in creating systems for efficient operations
  • Ensure the Events Manager is hitting quotas and meeting event organization and communication standards
  • Provide training programs for managers and hourly staff to realize their potential and growth within the company
  • Work closely with and oversee the bar leads and bar program to keep close tabs on:
    • Quality control and waste
    • Seasonal cocktail rotation and communication of specs to staff and provide advance training
    • Structure for bar staff training
    • Cleanliness behind the bar
    • Inventory count and submittal each month
  • Manage and train managers on IT troubleshooting (i.e. Toast, DD, reservations)
  • Troubleshoot facility maintenance
  • Interview and onboard management and hourly candidates
  • Ensure onboarding and separation procedures are complete and compliant
  • Manage the safe and cash handling

  • Available to work nights and weekends as a fixed schedule
  • At least 2 years of full-service dining room management in an AGM capacity or higher
  • Fluid with the backend of Toast, Door Dash and Resy or Open Table
  • Experienced in running the door, controlling the pace and maximizing seating
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours and go up and down stairs
  • Knowledgeable about local HR practices
  • High volume, fast paced restaurant experience
  • Bar tending background helpful
  • Familiar with P&L and controlling labor and COGS
