
Opening Executive Sous | Elevated Asian Concept | Miami
DESCRIPTION:
Chef-driven restaurant group seeks an experienced, well-rounded, and hands-on Executive Sous Chef to join our team. We are searching for an energetic, highly motivated culinary professional with a passion for hospitality. In this position, you will act as the second in command in our kitchen, following and enforcing our Executive Chef's requirements and guidelines for this highly anticipated new restaurant opening in the heart of Miami. This is a high revenue, 165 seat, dinner-only Asian concept and the ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience with Asian cuisine and techniques. Important to note, we check all egos at the door!
Your responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
- Work directly with the Executive Chef to execute a flawless service while maintaining consistency with plating, timing and remarkable guest experiences
- Maintain integrity in all decisions, actions and employee & guest interactions
- Assist in menu development while maintaining food cost, inventory control and managing BOH labor costs
- Oversee scheduling, purchasing, prep lists and ensure all health, hygiene and safety measures are being met at all times
- Understand and abide by all HR policies and procedures
- Hire and train new employees. Supervise the day-to-day task assignments and performance for all BOH staff. Help promote teamwork throughout the team
- Perform administrative duties as delegated or otherwise assigned
- Maintain open and regular communication with FOH leadership in implementing strategic systems to continuously improve overall service and guest experience while keeping operating costs in line with budget
- Be the company's brand ambassador and serve as a role model while maintaining a cheerful, courteous disposition and a neat, clean and professional appearance
- Drive the operational success while maintaining excellence
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have at least 2-3 years of experience in a kitchen management/supervisory role
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience with Asian cuisine & techniques
- Must be a team player, have critical thinking skills, and the ability to bring a project from start to finish
- Must have open availability
- Bilingual a huge plus!
