small, family-owned restaurant and wine bar is seeking a managing partner to run the day to day operations of this 150 seat venue in modesto, ca. the managing partner is a highly demanding position and implies taking on a great variety of tasks. the position is truly about hospitality layered with the responsibilities of a general manager. the managing partners primary role is to run service while guiding both the foh and boh teams. presence on the floor and engaging guests are key components to being a managing partner so you can ensure that guests have an exceptional experience and leave eager to return. the ability to lead by example and establish a good example for the rest of the employees of the restaurant is paramount. it is also essential that the managing partner is able to consistently carry out what the owner has put in place as well as new tasks consistently with care and attention.

responsibilities:

  • level 2 or higher Sommelier certification is preferred
  • support ownership in running the restaurant
  • drive sales and profitability and exceed budgeted financial benchmarks
  • lead by example
  • maintain a level of service and hospitality that proudly reflects our brand.
  • maintain a positive and respectful work environment at all times
  • recruit and onboard hospitality driven team members who reflect our brand
  • lead, train, motivate and mentor all staff
  • maintain a positive relationship and establish open lines of communication between front and back of house
  • maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the restaurant
  • cultivate new and existing guest relationships
  • set the tone for the staff every shift for service
  • follow all company standards, systems and policies
  • comply with all applicable laws and guidelines in respect to federal, state and local agencies
