Position: Human Resources Coordinator
Employment: Non - Exempt
Reports To: Human Resource Director
The Human Resources Coordinator will support day to day HR activities to support Santa Cruz Co’s NYC operations with a strong focus on onboarding, new hire orientation, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate must have Human Resources restaurant/ hospitality experience with a thorough understanding of wage and hour and HR practices.
Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
Onboarding
- Partner with department leaders to coordinate new hire onboarding
Prepare and send offer letters and additional documentation for new hires
- Process new hire employment paperwork through the company’s onboarding and payroll system
- Gather and file all paperwork related to new hires
Employee Database System Maintenance
- Ensuring employee information is accurate and compliant in the system
- Update records by entering any changes to employee information
- Support field operators and staff with day-to-day inquiries
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Position Requirements
- 2 Years’ Experience in a similar role in restaurants or hospitality required
- Experience with labor and HR practices in NYC
- Experience with employee benefits programs (medical, vision, dental) workers compensation, insurance management and more
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with a focus on building relationships and that best support the team
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, who is flexible and self-driven
- Proficiency with Payroll & HR Management Systems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Bilingual English / Spanish a plus
