Currently searching for a talented Executive Chef to run our upcoming hotel opening in Wilmington DE. The hotel will have restaurant spaces as listed below. The strongest candidate will display innate leadership qualities and an ability to attract, motivate and retain talented cooks. As the team member shows dedicated reliability, a very strong work ethic and an ability to absorb work, they will work with the Culinary Director to personalize a career path.

Job Description:

  • Manage food and labor costs, working with the corporate team to create and implement strategies as business cycles change
  • Work closely with the Culinary Director and the General Manager to effectively maintain standards of excellence and SOP
  • Motivate, train, supervise and evaluate the kitchen team daily as well as conduct performance reviews, among other things, to keep staff engaged
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen operations, food preparation, participating in menu planning and development
  • Conduct quality checks of food products, both received and cooked, and monitor sanitation practices – maintaining cleanliness and organization standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in creating, costing, preparing, and executing original menus
  • Deep understanding of high-end restaurant operations
  • Experience with reviewing and evaluating restaurant income statements and able to adjust in strategies to maximize profits
