Salary: $65,000 – $75,000

Overview:

As a Private Events Manager, you will support the restaurant to promote, price, plan, coordinate, and supervise the execution of large reservation bookings, off-premise catering and private parties, and special events. A passion for food, wine and unparalleled hospitality is required alongside strong relationship building, communication and an uncanny attention-to-detail.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Solicit and promote special event business through advertising, cold-calling, contacting past customers, relationships with local businesses and other cost-effective activities.

  • Negotiate final pricing, prepare contracts and secure customer signatures.

  • Collect deposits as required.

  • Document final arrangements with clients on function sheet. Obtain all specifications and pertinent information concerning the event, including but not limited to, number attending, schedule of events and menu.

  • Regularly review upcoming events function sheets and have thorough understanding of all requirements on upcoming scheduled events.

  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.

  • Provide special events staff with a copy of each function sheet to gain a thorough understanding of event specifications prior to the function.

  • Requisition or obtain equipment and supplies needed for each event, ensuring that they meet customer expectations and requirements.

  • Inspect event room prior to the start of each function – check room setup, menu, service staff, etc. conforms to function sheet.

  • Account for all equipment and supplies. Return or arrange for return of rented materials.

  • Partner with Culinary team on the development of menus specific to catering and private events

  • Perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by the General Manager

    Position Requirements:

  • Proficient in all aspects of event management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Dedicated to consistently driving high standards and achieving service excellence

  • Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to multi-task when needed

  • Polished, professional demeanor and presentation; an eye for quality and an attention to detail

  • Possess a passion for food and wine and a strong desire for development and advancement

  • Ability to work flexible schedule 100% in office and on site in order to accommodate business needs

    Ideal Experience:

  • 3 years of related experience with sales management and coordination of on-premise and off- premises events

  • New York event site knowledge

  • Proven sales and negotiating skills; consistency in generating new business

  • Proficiency in TripleSeat, Office 365 and MicroSoft applications; Reservation control software knowledge

  • Ability to work independently and work well under pressure, meeting tight deadlines

  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume/high-pressure environment

  • Strong attention to superior guest/client service and hospitality

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $65K to $75K per annum plus commission
