Salary: $100000 – $110000

Highly reputable resort Upstate NY is seeking a talented Events Chef to join their team. This position will be responsible for all offsite events including food preparation, production and logistics.  We are building a new Events kitchen separate from the restaurant kitchen where all events will be executed.  There is also open-fire outdoor spaces for on-site event cooking as well.   You will be implementing and writing menus alongside the Chef de Cuisine, ordering ingredients for, coordinating staffing for prep and day of the event as well as allocating equipment and any materials needed for successful implementation. You will work closely with the Events Planning Team to tailor menus and style of service in accordance with the wishes of the guest.  You will adhere to standard operating procedures for food quality and ensure the kitchen is compliant with the regulatory requirements for food handling, sanitation and cleanliness. You will also assist and support the CDC and effectively communicate their goals for the kitchen department and overall vision for the restaurant.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary Degree a plus
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar role in a fine dining setting
  • Must be able to work independently and trouble shoot in unfamiliar and new environments
  • Must be able to lead a small to medium team from prep to execution
  • Must have knowledge in numerous cooking styles and well versed in modern and traditional techniques
  • Must be able to maintain inventory, cost out dishes and track overall usage and waste of goods
  • Food Handler’s Certification
  • Available to work weekends and holidays
