Salary: $110,000 – $130,000

Boutique Hotel is seeking a Director of Sales who will be responsible for driving individual and group sales. They will be generating top line revenue while consistently exceeding budget and guest expectations. The ideal candidate for this position is a go-getter with a proven track record of creative promotion concepts and smart selling techniques. They must be a highly communicative, meticulously organized team player who possesses a positive, problem-solving attitude and a passion for innovation and the process of selling and building guest relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.
  • Develop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’s, and ensure knowledge of and adherence to those policies by the sales team.
  • Conduct Outside sales calls, Networking Events, and Trade Shows
  • Maintain good working relationship with travel buyers
  • Strong analytical skillset including ability to produce necessary reporting and analyze such information to turn data into strategy for these key segments
  • Prepare proposals/contracts and respond to RFP’s in a timely fashion
  • Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program. Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends.
  • Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections.
  • Assist in implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments, i.e. parties, sales blitzes, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
  • Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property.
  • Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.

Requirements:

  • Extensive background in selling guest rooms and local catering to corporate and leisure markets, small to large group, meetings, and social events which also include food and beverage and audio-visual offerings
  • Strong understanding of revenue management principles that may help guide selling strategy, target business, and converted opportunities aimed to maximize top line sales and profitability.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Extensive hotel customer service experience
  • An aptitude for self-motivation
  • A flexible schedule that allows you to be available days, nights, holidays and weekends based on the demands of the hotel and clients
  • The ability and desire to attend travel trade shows and hotel industry-related events
  • An understanding of STR, REVPAR goals
