Culinary Director | Upscale New American

Salary: $130,000 – $150,000


Established fine dining restaurant is searching for a Culinary Director with passion for local produce and regional cooking. The CD role will be very hands on: cooking different, delicious food items and will be responsible for creating the restaurant’s menu and adjusting it depending on the seasonality/availability of food. 


  • 5+ years culinary background within fine dining, 3 years experience at CDC/EC level or above
  • Multi-outlet experience preferred
  • Culinary creativity with focus on seasonal, hyper-local produce
  • Purchasing experience and local vendor relations
  • Inventory control, menu, plate & labor costing
  • Menu/recipe creation, maintenance and documentation, with daily staff education
  • Experience leading a kitchen team of 10+ employees
  • Thorough knowledge of food handling practices including a food protection certificate
  • Strong leadership qualities with ability to motivate and coach a dynamic team
  • Strong organization and communication skills

  • Intermediate computer skills & knowledge

  • Experience working in high volume, seasonal environment
  • Strong financial acumen and proven results in driving sales and lowering food & labor costs
