Salary: $140,000 – $150,000

DESCRIPTION:

Growing hospitality group seeks Culinary Director to oversee multiple properties (Brooklyn & Manhattan with a new concept opening in the coming months).

This candidate will help reimagine a cutting edge culinary program based solely on PERUVIAN CUISINE. Candidate must be coming from a well known Peruvian concept or other relevant Peruvian training & experience.

The ideal candidate will have pre-opening experience as well as events and multi-unit, high volume restaurant/culinary experience ($25mm+). Company also prefers candidates coming from chef-driven, independent brands. While corporate restaurant experience may be applicable, it is not preferred for this role. Ideal candidates will have stable tenures, keen attention to detail, ability to manage large scale operations and a proven track record of mentorship and managing teams under pressure. You must also have excellent references (we will check).

Position is based in NYC, but potential to travel abroad in coming years as the group is planning to expand internationally by 2024.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3+ year experience in multi-unit Culinary Director or Corporate Chef position (or higher).
  • Must be a company culture guru. We want energetic, optimistic, compassionate leaders.
  • Organized and comprehensive purchasing experience.
  • Pre-opening, SOP and kitchen design experience.
  • Strong, local vendor relations.
  • Inventory control, menu, plate & labor costing.
  • Experience leading teams of 200+.
  • Thorough knowledge of food handling practices including a food protection certificate.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and coach a dynamic team.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Passion for success, and an uncompromising commitment to excellence.
  • Intermediate computer skills & knowledge.
  • Multi-lingual a plus!
