Salary: $140,000 – $160,000
Boutique Hospitality company based in Plainfield, New Jersey with locations in the Tri-State area and growing. We own and operate restaurants and banquet venues and we are growing a portfolio of boutique hotels. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller. We domestically outsource our day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll processing, and complaint reporting. This role will be to optimize and control our external accounting services and perform internal analytics.
In this role you will:

Coordinate and oversee accurate, actionable reporting with our external bookkeeping and accounting teams

Prepare operating budgets and ongoing estimates

Perform banking functions

Monitor and oversee Accounts Payable and Account Receivable activity

Implement new initiatives to streamline processes

Review monthly reports to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance

Assist with Financial Audits

Producer financial analysis and reports, and present results

Query data for analysis to respond to inquiries from the field or management

Assist the CFO with special projects, including acquisitions and associated reporting

Responsible for tracking performance against bonus program and calculating payouts

Work with all departments on revenue and cost management

Control cash receipts & establish and manage our hotel revenue software
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

5-7 years of accounting and financial management
-
Experience with month-end and year-end close processes

Knowledge of inventory control and cost of goods sold

Understanding of the accounting process from general ledger to trial balance to financial reporting

Relevant, strong experience in financial reporting, account analysis, budgeting, and analytics

Ability to communicate with senior-level management

Analytical and have a great attention to detail

Knowledge of tax reporting

Experience with a multi-unity restaurant/hospitality company preferrable

Background in a small public accounting firm preferable

Previous experience with financial compilations, reviews, and auditing

Ability discuss and illustrate important financial reporting and goals with Leaders of the Company
Skills:

Strong with Spreadsheets, Word, and Data Mining

Exposure to QuickBooks

Systems implementation
